Many issues come before us in the House of Delegates. I study the facts and data surrounding legislation before each vote, carefully measuring its impact on working families, retirees, and small businesses in particular, and society and our environment in general.

My legislative philosophy is that a proposed law should not create more problems than it solves; it should do the right thing, not just "something"; it should solve a problem, not just subsidize it; it should empower people, not just create programs; and it should raise the bar in our society, not lower it. Fiscally, the benefits from the legislation must owtweigh it's cost, and even then, we must consider whether the funds it requires could be better spent on other budget items, or better left for the personal needs of our taxpaying families.
