Delegate McMillan appreciates that private sector businesses, not government, are the source of our prosperity. The private sector produces revenue; government consumes it. More importantly, private sector businesses produce the jobs and health care benefits our workers rely upon to take care of their families.
Delegate McMillan has worked hard to protect, promote, and improve our business climate in Maryland. As a private sector employee and union member, he is sensitive to the fact that higher taxes not only impact a worker's take home pay, but also a businesses ability to provide employee health care, pay higher wages, and hire more workers.
Delegate McMillan is the founder and chairman of the House Taxpayer Protection Caucus, and was honored with the Maryland Taxpayer Association's 2002 Taxpayer Advocate Award. For his strong support of small businesses, Delegate McMillan received the highest ranking in the House of Delegates from the National Federation of Independent Businesses.
